The week that will lead to the selection of the new head coach of Pisa Sporting Club has entered the critical phase. The management and president Alexander Knaster are engaged in a series of decisive meetings in Forte dei Marmi, the location chosen for the final meetings. The goal of the blue-black ownership is to define the negotiations in the coming days, ideally by June 9 or 10, to start the programming of the new season immediately. The club has two coaches on the payroll until 2027: Alberto Gilardino and Oscar Hiljemark, whose tenure will officially end soon after a disappointing haul of just 4 points in 15 games. Their salaries weigh around $1.5 million, but this does not stop the club's ambitions. Pisa continues to work to identify the new coach and the race for the bench seems to have narrowed down to four names: Fabio Pecchia, Marco Baroni, Paolo Zanetti and Paolo Bianco. The latter, despite recent statements on the possible permanence at Monza and interest from Verona, remains fully on the radar of the blue-black. Pecchia continues to be one of the most appreciated profiles for experience and results obtained in Serie B, while Zanetti represents another pleasant solution for his knowledge of the category. Also in the list is Baroni, a high-level profile who may wait for possible opportunities in Serie A before deciding his future. On the sidelines are some outsiders, including Calabro and Vito Di Bari, as well as an additional name not yet emerged. Meanwhile, Felipe Loyola has reaffirmed to TNT Sports Chile his willingness to stay in Europe and at Pisa, closing the voices on a possible return to South America or Boca Juniors. The Cilean midfielder thanked the blue-black club for believing in him and for the investment made: "Pisa believed in me and opened the doors, I am grateful". Loyola defined positive the personal balance, even in a difficult season marked by relegation, and added: "I have already crossed the ocean and my intention is to stay there and not return". He then spoke of the differences with South America, especially on the physical and cultural level, explaining that he found in Italy a harder, more international and useful football for growth. Finally, Rafiu Durosinmi has played with Nigeria in the friendly match ended 2-2 against Poland in Warsaw. The Pisa attacker entered at halftime, playing the entire second half with the Super Eagles. For him another presence with the national team in view of the next friendly match against Portugal, scheduled for June 10.
