The City of Pisa has officially defined the operational settings for a series of important maintenance and technological upgrade works at the Arena Garibaldi stadium. Through three distinct directorial provisions signed in the past few days, the Public Building Directorate has in fact constituted the respective internal working groups to follow the progress of the procedures and the execution of the contracts. The operations will concern crucial areas of the sports facility, ranging from lighting to perimeter security, to more significant structural changes. The first block of works is aimed at the "Replacement of some lamp bodies in the lighthouse towers of the Arena Garibaldi stadium". For this specific operation, an executive project has been approved that provides for a total investment of 67,235.00 euros. In parallel, the second provision concerns the assignment of the works of "Completion of modifications to the fixed and mobile fences of the Arena Garibaldi Stadium", for a total amount quantified at 67,427.44 euros. Both projects see Engineer Gabriele Cerri in the role of Single Project Manager and Surveyor Sandro Costa as Project Director. The economically most significant intervention is instead that related to the functional and structural upgrade of the sports facility explicitly requested by the Lega Calcio. This third chapter of expenditure provides for a total amount of over one million euros. Unlike the previous two sites, which will rely entirely on internal technical figures, the direction of the works requested by the Lega Calcio has been confirmed to an external subject, Studio Archea Associati Srl with its headquarters in Florence. All municipal employees involved in the various administrative and technical offices have already presented the necessary attestations regarding the absence of causes of incompatibility or potential conflicts of interest. The three offices unify the internal services of programming, design and control of the procedures for assignment of the City of Pisa, which will apply the relevant monetary incentives for technical functions according to what is provided for by the municipal regulation deliberated in December 2025.
